Important info about this rip: Hybrid's 2006 album "I Choose Noise" makes use of a little-known but occasionally used trick in the CD-authoring world. It contains a hidden track entitled "Everything is Brand New"—not at the end of the CD after a long period of silence like most CDs with "hidden" tracks, but in the pre-gap before track 1. The only way to hear it on a conventional CD player is to start the CD and then hold the rewind button. It doesn't show up when you put it into your computer and rip with a generic CD ripper, and it never plays without user intervention. Most listeners probably don't even know it's there. However, since we at Waffles are concerned with, above all else, "the perfect rip," I have created a rip that will exactly duplicate this behavior, even though "Everything is Brand New" has been pulled out in to a separate "track 0" FLAC file. Simply use the "with pre-gap hidden track" CUE file in EAC's "Write CD" function and you will end up with a perfect reproduction of this little trick. The resultant TOC values (shown in the Write CD window once you've loaded the CUE) will be exact duplicates of those shown in the log of this rip. Of course, you can easily transcode the files to the lossy format of your choice and decide where you want to sequence the hidden track. Personally I leave its track information blank—when sorting in "Album by Artist" mode in iTunes, this puts the track before Track 1 in the list. Enjoy! --killmoms
